This innovative approach allows patients to consult with healthcare professionals remotely, receive prescriptions, and have medications delivered to their homes, typically within a few days. The program started with a small number of appointments per week and has since grown to 10-15 appointments weekly. By April, online scheduling will be available, further increasing accessibility. The initiative is particularly beneficial for rural residents, as 24 counties in Ohio lack OB-GYNs. Historically, medication and procedural abortion have been equally popular among Planned Parenthood patients, but the telehealth expansion is expected to shift this balance. This new service is a significant step towards improving healthcare access and convenience for Ohioans, especially those facing transportation challenges or preferring remote consultations.
